Ecumenical & denominational links Print

Through our denominational, ecumenical and world church links, the College is able to offer a far wider range of opportunities and draw on much broader resources than it could if working alone.

We work ecumenuically with our partners in the Luther King House Educational Trust and the Southern North West Training Partnership to provide a range of courses at Luther King House and in other centres.

Northern College works with other Resource Centres for Learning within the URC - Westminster College, Cambridge; the Scottish United Reformed and Congregational College; and the Windermere Centre.  Together, and along  with synod training and developments officers, we are exploring more effective ways of providing resources for learning for the whole church.

We have close linkis with the Council for World Mission.  Many of our students undertake overseas placements in CWM partner churches and we frequently welcome students from CWM churches who undertake postgraduate or research work here.

Staff members are involed in the work of the wider denomination through involvement in TLS (Training for Learning and Serving), Vision4Life and service on national and synod committees of the URC.

The Congregational Federation and the Moravian Church from time to time send students to us to prepare for the ministry of Word and Sacrament.
